The challenge

Clifford Chance is a global law firm with 35 offices in 25 countries and employs more than 6,100 people.

The firm has produced a print magazine, CC World, for a number of years but with the business increasingly embracing an innovation agenda and exploring increased ways of collaboration, the relaunch of the print magazine was seen as the perfect opportunity to introduce a new, digital companion, offering employees greater choice in how they read the publication.

The solution

The digital World is not simply a reproduction of the print magazine. It gives readers more – a richer experience with multimedia content, including videos and picture galleries, plus animated photography.

Readers rate, like, comment on and share individual articles within the publication, making it a more collaborative and interactive experience. The issue is designed to respond to any browser width and screen size – even older smartphones, which results in a great-looking magazine, whatever device it is viewed on.

The value

The number of unique users for the digital version is growing and has led to the decision to phase out the print version. For readers who prefer to read hard copy, we’ve incorporated an option to print a print-friendly layout of each article from the digital magazine.
