Storyboard – October 2013 issue

Storyboard October 2013The October 2013 issue of our monthly Storyboard newsletter was sent this week covering a great range of internal communications topics.

Sequel took a look at ways to sell an ESN into your own company; in other words how to demonstrate the value of ESNs in order to encourage employee engagement, productivity and overall development of the business.

Andrew Cave led by example by office hopping for a day in order demonstrate flexible working and writing about his experiences for CorpComms Magazine. Moving around London – from Regus to Axa UK – he talks to a variety of internal comms pros and discusses the effects flexible working has on employee engagement.

And on the digital side, Storyboard included an article from Ragan about digital signage, an increasingly popular way to reach people beyond their desktop computers – be it in lifts, the cafeteria or the walls of reception areas.

We asked ‘would you trust 27,000 people with your secret’? This article in Simply-Communicate.com, by All things IC’s Rachel Miller, looked at Thomas Cook’s approach to telling all of their employees about their new unified re-branding which they asked them to keep under wraps for a fortnight before launching publically.

And CFO.com discussed the top five ways to mess up gamification – know them so that you can avoid them!
