Selling some of the world’s most popular television programmes and formats is a complicated business, requiring efficient processes and robust systems. That’s why Fremantle wanted to update their ‘FIRE’ (Fremantle Internal Resources Extranet) platform to compete in this ever-changing industry and with the fast pace of modern technology.
Our solutions architect researched how different departments were using the current system and processes. With this top-level insight, we could then propose three technologies to choose from: updating the existing Oracle system, using Microsoft Dynamics or creating a custom development in Azure.
They decided on Microsoft Dynamics 365, which is a specialist tool that’s available as an extra part of the O365 suite. In this instance, we also connected it with Power Apps and Power BI for extended functionality. And its mobile accessibility means it’s ideal for employees out and about at vital industry events.
The next step was to develop a proof of concept to ensure it would meet the business requirements. Once this was confirmed, Sequel’s developers started building the real deal, while conducting further comprehensive research with senior business stakeholders to bring them on board. We delved into the minute details of what were often conflicting needs and ensured it was fit for purpose.
Then, out of the ashes of FIRE, the Phoenix platform was born.
Phoenix has helped employees work more consistently by providing a single solution that works for everyone and more efficiently by automating previously time-consuming exercises, including detailed reports.
As the trusted source of information, it’s employees’ first port of call when it comes to recording and searching for data. It’s in no danger of going out of date as we roll out regular updates to ensure it aligns with ever-changing user needs in this fast-paced industry.
Bob McCourt, Chief Operating Officer at Fremantle says: “It was a great experience working with the Sequel team on this project. They are incredibly professional and the output and recommendations from the work they performed was exceptional. We are already working with them on our next project.”
