#2021ReasonsToBe positive? You bet!

Are you still suffering from the pandemic blues? Or are you looking ahead to 2021 with a spring in your step, buoyed by the news that a vaccine may help us return to the lives we remember?

For internal comms folk, like many other areas of society, this year has been tough. Challenging. Unprecedented. Full of obstacles.

But as our #PositiveIC campaign showed during the first lockdown back in the Spring, there were plenty of things to celebrate as an industry even when the first wave of Covid-19 was at its peak.

Now as we look forward to next year, we’re asking IC influencers for their reasons to be cheerful for 2021; it’s clear that the pandemic has brought the skills we offer to organisations to the fore and gives us a foundation to build on; IC people have so much to offer in the months ahead.

Deloitte’s Global Marketing Trends 2021 research shows that consumers appreciate positivity. Where brands responded positively to the pandemic, consumers said it increased their brand loyalty. The same is true for employees.

When a business seems to value financial results alone, employees will be motivated by what they can get. But in a business that emphasises teamwork, employee contentment and positivity, staff are more likely to be motivated by wanting to contribute, play their part and enjoy sharing success.

The opportunity for IC is, therefore, clear to see. And in the run up to Christmas, we’ll be returning to our theme of #PositiveIC by sharing our peers’ #2021ReasonsToBe positive. Check out Sequel’s social media platforms for some inspiring insight into what we hope will be a much happier 12 months ahead.

Here at Sequel we’ll be continuing to bang the drum for the value of internal comms, our role as strategic advisers and the help we can provide IC managers in fostering a culture of employee wellbeing.

In the meantime, do let us know what reasons you have to be cheerful for 2021. Join the conversation where you see our #2021ReasonsToBe and #PositiveIC hashtags.

Stay positive. Stay safe!
