Best places to work in 2019 – would you get top spot?

Anglian Water has topped Glassdoor’s list of the best places to work in 2019 – beating competition from top companies such as Google, O2 and GlaxoSmithkline.

And unlike other workplace awards, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards are based on the input of employees who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback by completing a company review about their job, work environment and employer over the past year.

So what do employees value most when it comes to their experience at work?

Along with good work-life balance, reviews of the top 10 companies awarded cite feeling valued and supported as an individual as high on their list of employment priorities, along with plenty of opportunities for career development and being valued as an individual.

What’s striking about the leading organisations is that employees really feel their opinion matters. They feel informed about, and involved with, their company’s strategic direction and they’re clear about how their role contributes.
