Special Children’s Day

The challenge:

ZSL London Zoo’s annual ‘Special Children’s Day’ is something very special indeed.

Supported for many years by Barclays colleagues, it provided an exciting opportunity for children with special needs, along with their families, to enjoy and experience London Zoo to the full.

With specialist facilities and exclusive interactive events, including sensory storytelling, hands-on discovery zones, volunteers in animal costumes and Barclays Digital playground, this promised to be a great day out.

Barclays is a valued Sequel client, so when we heard about the event, we wanted to get involved and support this excellent cause too, by creating films to showcase the day.

“We are extremely grateful to the Sequel Group for their involvement in this special project”

The solution:

Our in-house team spent two days at the zoo, capturing a flavour of the day and talking to visitors and volunteers. The children clearly had a whale of a time and we had a lot of fun too – it was a joy and a privilege to film them.

The value:

We have now produced two short videos for Barclays and ZSL to use online as part of their CSR and awareness-building campaigns. The videos were launched in July 2015 and have already gathered momentum, with great online viewing figures. The video also been shortlisted for Best Audio Video in European awards, the FEIEA Grand Prix.

Here’s what our client had to say…

“The ZSL Special Children’s Day events are an incredibly important date in the calendar of many families who have disabled children.

The day offers the chance for individuals and groups to come together and enjoy all the delights a zoo has to offer and more; surrounded by fantastic staff and volunteers who ensure that it is a truly inclusive and accessible environment for all.

Through a chance mention of this event, Sequel quickly saw the opportunity to support and generously offered their services. Creating a bespoke digital memory of this event is not only a wonderful reminder for all those who attended, but a great tool for the future, to promote the extraordinary and precious moments this day has to offer.

We are extremely grateful to the Sequel Group for their involvement in this special project; providing the ZSL charity with a wonderful digital asset they will be able to use again and again – ensuring the legacy of the Special Children’s Day events continues.”
