We Are Social: Platform for growth

The Challenge

We Are Social helps brands to listen to, understand and engage in conversations in social media. After a period of rapid growth, they were looking for a consistency that would give them a platform to continue growing.

Internal processes had evolved from day one, but now they weren’t necessarily fit for an organisation operating in eight countries, and more employees.

Our Solution

Using The Four Pillars™ as a framework, we assessed a range of areas, including:

  • The company culture – did it match what leaders were expecting?
  • Comms channels – how well did they give people the information they needed?
  • Collaboration – how effectively did colleagues work together?
  • Processes – how consistent were they?
  • Employee needs – what would help them to work more efficiently?

We discovered that the company was at a mid-point between being a cool, fresh start-up and an efficient machine. We felt that an Enterprise Social Network (ESN) would provide a platform for better sharing of information and collaboration.

We set out a purpose, a vision and some guiding principles for the platform, as well as a wish list of potential features. Having agreed that wish list with leaders, we were able to review 10 of the leading ESN platforms in line with the approved features, ethos and budget, and make appropriate recommendations.

The impact

Our research has enabled We Are Social to take stock of where it has come from, where it is now, and where it wants to be. This provided the foundation for a new approach to communication that’s in line with the company’s growth plans.
