Digital 3D employee awards site hits stellar heights
Our team liaised with the client and the third-party agency to create a dynamic experience and entry point for the nominations and voting. The solution was visually striking, accessible and compatible with the client’s existing SharePoint platform.
A major global manufacturing and supply business wanted our help to make their annual employee business awards a stellar event – literally.
We were challenged with taking on an initial creative concept from by a third-party agency focused on the Hercules constellation and developing and building something spectacular within SharePoint with under a month ago to the ‘live’ awards ceremony.
Our team liaised with the client and the third-party agency to create a dynamic experience and entry point for the nominations and voting. The solution was visually striking, accessible and compatible with the client’s existing SharePoint platform.
The awards were presented within a custom, mobile responsive 3D experience and microsite embedded into SharePoint. Created using specialist 3D web technology, the experience allowed users to move the constellation around in 3D space and zoom into each star to reveal nominee information, including animated stats and media.
The awards site – which was updated to present the four overall winners – saw a significant step-up in engagement among employees across the client’s international regions.
The site received 14,000 views across global business regions, including in several languages. There were close to 9,000 active users over a one month period between launch of the nominees’ site and the announcement of the winners.
The internal communications digital manager said: “The 3D experience developed by Sequel for our internal global awards was a major step-change in how engage with our employees, helping to bring the stories from our nominees to life.
“We saw a 42% increase in employee participation year-on-year – a massive success.”
