Tim Lambert wants you to get silly.
Writing for Management Issues, Tim (Director of people and development consultancy firm Kay-Lambert Associates Limited) argues that:
“It’s the inquisitive, the curious and the downright silly people who often stumble across the greatest eureka moments, simply by asking the questions that no-one thinks of asking or dares to ask.”
Tim suggests organising regular company-wide sessions where everyone – especially management – is encouraged to ask a ‘silly’ question without the fear of upsetting the status quo or looking foolish.
“Silly answers might be just the thing that brings you a competitive edge and makes all the difference to your business,” he says.
But what is a ‘silly’ question? From “Why don’t we stop sending emails?” to “Do we need a regional office?” Tim has a whole host of suggested ridiculousness to get your silly sessions started.
